I believe in the power of story.
More than that, I believe we all have stories to tell. Perhaps this is intuitively obvious, but I think we can get so caught up in the chaos of everyday living that we never often stop to think about how our stories shape us. We presume they run silently in the background, when, in reality, they define our lives. Our stories are our lives.
Maybe that’s why I write.
Writing helps me make sense of my story. And if something I’ve written can help even one person make sense of theirs, then my story is just a little more complete. If somehow, along the way, our stories intersect and connect, more’s the better. Because that’s what story is all about: the intricacies of our humanity, the tender moments we share, the lives we touch, the connections we make and keep.
